Description

The Good Ideas Garden Wizard Raised Bed Garden is a patented design that uses four 50" wall sections to enclose a 4'x4'x10" space. This self-watering bed makes use of special soaker hoses that connect to each wall. The unique soaker hoses use a slow-drip, wicking action that only delivers water to the soil when needed. When you fill one wall with water, it transfers to each of the other walls while simultaneously watering the garden. The Raised Bed Garden takes no more than 5 minutes to set up from start to finish. Simply lay out your setup location, connect the wall sections with the pins, and attach your included soaker hoses. Each garden bed can be expanded with the matching Good Ideas Garden Wizard Self-Watering Border Walls.

***Update!! Since my last post on this product, a lot has happened. We were able to send a video of the product leaking, and for that, they sent a replacement section. They did not send the matching color, but it did not leak, so I was going forward. A few days ago, I received a call from the VP at Good Ideas. He was very upset on how this situation was taken care of, or not taken care of. He said since they messed up on customer service so bad, he was going to send another unit to me. Not just another panel, but the Whole Kit! I did not expect this! It arrived today; 06-27-13. The success with this product so far has been amazing! Our tomato plants are around 5.5 ft. tall, with fruit hanging everywhere! The drip watering method must be it.I purchased the Good Ideas Garden Wizard Raised Bed Garden for growing heirloom tomato plants. It was more expensive than I wanted to spend, but I thought with the self watering feature, it may be worth it. Well guess what? It leaks! After filling the tanks several times, I noticed where the water seemed to be coming out, under one of the corners. My first thought was, I did not fasten the dripper hose properly and it had come loose. After removing some plants, and about 1/3 of the dirt in the bed, I was able to verify that it is not leaking from the hose connection. I am going to contact Good Ideas, and see what their solution is. I hope to update this review after that. But right now, I would say; beware!**UPDATE** I contacted Good Ideas this morning, explained the issue. I was told I had to submit photos showing the defect for them to respond. I explained that this bed was already filled with soil, & has plants in it. She said that's what they had to have before they would look at it. She said besides, if they sent me a replacement section of wall, I would have to pull the defective one out to put the new one in. The big difference is taking the section out once to replace it is much different from pulling it to take photos, then reinstalling it, and then if they decide they want to cover the defect, remove it AGAIN & replace with a new section. The price for this unit was quite a bit more than I was comfortable paying. My logic to myself was it would be made of superior materials, and should give excellect customer service if needed. Wrong on both points. These are very easy to put together, no tools required. I bought 2 units. The watering hole cap for one of the walls was missing, but I just put a bull rock over the hole and it actually is more appealing than the black caps. The irrigation system seems like a good idea. However, the clips to hold them in place are extremely difficult to press closed with adequate pressure. Even when closed with pliers the hose could still come off. That said, I will likely only ever use the irrigation walls if we go on vacation. The color of the sandstone is a light gray, which goes well with our concrete house. The texture is perfect and I imagine it will look even better as it weathers.A very good above ground planter, and it has a simple way of wateringI purchased one of these units of 4 sections, filled all 4 sections with water, and found no leaks. I ordered 2 more units and assembled all 12 sections of the 3 units together to form a 4 by 20 planter. Filled all 12 sections with water right before the soil was delivered. Three of the 12 sections leak at the ends! Reconfigured to minimize the impact, but part of the planter will have to be watered by hand, defeating the purpose of a self-watering planter. The leaks occur at the end connectors and appear to come from inside the channel that accommodates the connecting "rods" so the defects are not visible and can only be detected by filling the unit with water. This is a design flaw that could and should be fixed, since others have reported similar problems.I love this item. This is the second I have purchased. My only complaint is that the packaging. The box had tape on it, probably from the manufacturer, and the box gaped as the tape didn't stick well. I am missing one cap for the walls.I just got it ready to go. We've had so much rain. It took approximately a 1/2 yard of soil to fill it up, if you can find someone that will sell you just that much. I had to buy a who yard. And it's cute. Can't wait for the rain to let up so I can get it planted.Looks and ease of assemblyThis is the best raised bed I've purchased. The built-in watering system makes great sense when dealing with drought situations. It will be easy to expand my garden by purchasing separate sections.I love the garden bed. It's exactly what I wanted. It was on sale for about $76 on Feb 2, 2015 so I bought 5. I received 3 of them the next day.I wanted to buy the 3 that were left in stock since I liked it so much. To my dismay, the seller decided to jack-up the price to $160. How crooked!!This is a great product. Very easy to assemble and looks nice. One problem it didn't come with all the parts. There are caps for the walls. I should have 4 but only got 2 there for the self watering hoses. That's an awesome feature. So all and all very satisfied with my purchase
