Had a different brand before, just wore out. This had an appropriate weight limit for my husband but was a little narrower on the depth.He loves itEasy to put up or put away! But I don't like doing the work. And in the hot summer, with my aged back and legs, it has become torture. So it was a real thrill to discover this great device that I can use to ease the pain and make gardening ALMOST pleasurable. I took it out for a test spin the other day, trimming an edge of pachysandra along the driveway. I used it in the 'sit-up' mode, and found that, even though I had to lean slightly forward to reach the base of the plants and make the cuts, there was no back strain and no leg strain. If I had done this without the Garden Kneeler it would have taken twice as long and left me ready for a drink, or a nap, or most likely both. On top of that, instead of changing into my 'down and dirty' jeans to do the work, I just wore my everyday pants, and since my knees never hit the tuft, the pants emerged unscathed. I honestly can't believe how helpful this device is, and can't believe I didn't already know about this kind of device.The Garden Kneeler is sturdy and well-made. It is light and hence easy to keep moving along as the work progresses. The pad is quite thick and comfortable to sit on, and the seat is secure even while leaning out. The little saddle bag will be useful if I ever need to bring along more than one implement.Opened up, it takes up little space, but it is also strait-forward to fold back up and reinsert into the plastic bag it came in. I see no reason it can't be stored in the garage over the winter in this condition.As a bonus, I thought of the kneeler as I was washing my car and found that it is equally useful for washing car wheels.There are a number of these devices advertised on Amazon and they look remarkably similar. I chose this one at random and have no insights into the relative merits of the different products. But this one is quite good enough for me. I'm so glad I found it.The product is made in China.I obtained this item at no cost as a Vine reviewer. My review is honest and objective, the same as if I had paid for the product.I'm getting to the point where it's hard to get up after kneeling on the ground to weed -- plus the hard ground isn't very comfortable. This comes in handy. I don't use it as a bench. I put the pad down to kneel on and the handles up to use to help get myself up off the ground. It's not quite as sturdy as I'd like so that's why it didn't get the 5th star.I bought this for my mother-in-law, the gardener in my life that as everything! She recently had knee surgery and has been having a bit of difficulty with her gardening. What she likes about this product is you have the ability to kneel with it or the ability to sit on it when you're pruning flowers, etc. Plus it comes with a pocket on the side to hold your gardening supplies. My mother-in-law has been highly pleased and really likes it.
